Inter School Competitions
On Wednesday 25th July Greenside girl's football team entered the Tameside Tournament. The girls had never played a match together before but this didn't stop them. They played three matches and were amazing in every match. In our first game Mollie scored a hat trick and we won 3-0. The second game we played was against Greswell. The score for this game was 4-0 with Mollie and Kenzie gettiing two goals each. In the final game against Cannon Burrows the goals just kept coming with the final score being 10-0. Mollie got four goals, Kenzie got three goals, Frankie got two goals and Jodie got in on the act and scored a goal. The team showed excellent teamwork and team spirit. These amazing scores mean that Greenside are through to the finals. These take place on Thursday 3rd October at Curzon Ashton.
Girls' Football Tournament @ Curzon Ashton
On Thursday 3rd October the Greenside Girl's Football Team played in the finals of the football tournament. The Year 6 children had been on a trip to Blackpool that day but make it back just in time. As soon as we arrived we were straight on playing. We played 4 matches winning 1-0, 1-0 and 2-0 and drawing 0-0. These scores meant we were through to the final having yet to concede a goal in the entire tournament. Unfortunately the Greenside Girls just couldn't find the equalising goal although they went close on at least four occasions. The final score ws 1-0 to Pinfold but the firls could hold their heads high for their great performances in every match that they played.
